Platinum Software Has $2.8-Million Loss

Platinum Software Corp., an Irvine accounting software developer, posted a loss of $2.8 million, or 22 cents a share, for its second fiscal quarter, which ended Dec. 31. That compared to a loss of $8.7 million, or 70 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Revenue was $13.3 million, down from $14.6 million. For the first six months of its fiscal year, the company reported a loss of $2.8 million, or 22 cents a share, compared to a loss of $12.6 million, or $1.02 a share, for the same period a year earlier. Six-month revenue was $27.9 million, up from $26.0 million.
