Chicago-based Amoco said its forth-quarter earnings fell about 8% to $536 million, or $1.08 per share, in the fourth quarter, from $584 million, or $1.17 per share, a year earlier. Revenue rose to $7.8 billion from $7.4 billion.
Amoco’s earnings were hurt by lower natural gas prices and disappointing refining profit margins, Chairman H. Laurance Fuller said.
