J and S Salvage Inc., a recycling firm, has moved from Ventura to a new location on Montgomery Avenue in El Rio, north of Oxnard.
The company will continue to serve clients in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties from its new 86,000-square-foot center, reports spokeswoman Mary Loquvam. In addition, J and S has expanded into a public recycling service, she said.
J and S began as a Los Angeles company, moving to Ventura County in 1992. The firm formerly was on Colt Street in Ventura.
“We actually pay our clients for the material we recycle,” Loquvam said. Most of the material J and S collects comes from 100 major clients, including businesses, hospitals, government agencies and schools.
The company recycles paper, cardboard, newspapers, scrap metal, glass, plastic and wooden pallets.
