Steve Aylsworth
SCHOOL: Westlake
SPORT: Basketball
YEAR: Junior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Although he’s only a junior, Aylsworth continues to show why he might be the league’s top player. He is averaging 17.4 points and 4.7 assists for the Warriors, who have the Marmonte League’s best record (13-1, 6-0 in league play). He has ignited comebacks in victories over Royal and Agoura.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: The Warriors faced difficult tests last week against Thousand Oaks and Agoura--the latter came into the game tied with Westlake for first place. Led by Aylsworth’s 51 points and 10 assists, Westlake swept the games and took sole possession of first place. Westlake trailed Agoura by 13 point early, but Aylsworth helped erase the deficit with two three-point plays during an 11-0 run and finished with 26 points. Aylsworth played all but six seconds in the two games.
