COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Concordia Wins Record Ninth Straight
Concordia set a school record with its ninth straight victory by defeating Le Tourneau of Texas, 94-79, in men’s basketball game Friday night at Concordia.
Pharoah Jones led Concordia with 25 points and nine rebounds. He made 11 of 17 shots from the field. Tarik James added 20 points, four assists and three steals.
Concordia (13-1) limited Le Tourneau (5-8) to 39% field-goal shooting. Aaron Knaub led Le Tourneau with 19 points.

In the Whittier men’s basketball tournament:
Chapman 99, Hamilton 92 (OT)--Chapman scored 16 to Hamilton’s eight points in overtime to win the game. Stefan Mumaw had 24 points and 16 rebounds to lead Chapman (8-5) and Adam Dzierzynski scored 14 points and had 12 assist. Toby Curto was Chapman’s second leading scorer with 17 points.

At the UC Irvine Distance Invitational swim meet:
Wyoming leads--Wyoming, with a score of 143, took the top spot after the first of three days of competition. St. Bonaventure led the women’s field with 283 points.
UC Irvine’s Rich Sarkisian placed third in the 1,000-meter freestyle in a time of 10:16.60.
Swimmers from 15 teams will compete at Heritage Park today in individual events and in relays Sunday.
