THOUSAND OAKS : Probst Seeks Deal to House Arts Groups
More arts groups may make their homes in the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza under a lease being negotiated between the city and businessman Charles Probst.
Probst would pay $9,900 a month to lease 5,500 square feet of office space, then offer the space to nonprofit arts groups, City Atty. Mark Sellers said. The deal would last for at least five years, he said.
Sellers said he was not sure if Probst would charge the groups rent.
Probst donated $2 million to the Civic Arts Plaza last year, and the main auditorium is named in his honor.
Sellers said the City Council will probably consider the lease agreement at its Jan. 17 meeting.
