Chris Harris

A few years ago, when Chris Harris was still the anchor for Fox 11’s late news, I met him at a gathering in Ventura. At that time I was a high school journalism teacher, and Harris was so outgoing and gracious that I was emboldened to ask if he might be willing to visit my class and talk to my newspaper staff. Of course, he said, and he did, coming all the way back to Ventura and spending an entire class period being informative and entertaining, even offering to host a couple of my editors who asked to visit the Fox station.

That’s the sort of generous and professional journalist Harris was, and I will miss seeing him and hearing his news reports.
