Walk-in registration begins today at Oxnard College as community college students throughout Ventura County complete their class schedules for the upcoming semester.
The open registration follows weeks of mail-in applications for the spring semester, Registrar Delores Tabor-King said. The walk-in registration can be done from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 7 p.m. through next Thursday.
At Moorpark College, students will be able to register in person beginning Wednesday, though enrollment must be done by appointment, Registrar Kathy Colborn said.
More than three-fourths of the Moorpark College students take advantage of mail-in registration, which ended late last month, Colborn said.
Ventura College will offer in-person registration beginning Tuesday through the following Saturday, the first time the campus has offered weekend registration.
“It’s geared toward students who work full time and can’t come in during the week,” spokeswoman Jeanette Villanueva-Walker said of the Saturday registration.
Thousands of students are enrolling in hundreds of classes at the three campuses, though enrollment numbers will not become available until next week, officials said.
The number of students attending classes is crucial to district officials, who receive money from the state for each student enrolled.
A districtwide pilot telephone registration program is scheduled to begin in the summer session.
