Countywide : Holiday Closings

Sunday is New Year’s Day. The following will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday:

* All city, county, state and federal offices.

* County, state and federal courthouses.

* City and county libraries.

* Banks and savings and loans.

* Schools: There will be no classes Monday, and school offices, including those at colleges and universities, will be closed.

* Mail: There will be no mail delivery Monday. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.

* Trash: In most cities and unincorporated county areas, there will be no trash pickup Monday, and pickup will be one day late for the rest of the week. In Buena Park, Costa Mesa, La Habra, La Palma and Stanton, trash will be picked up on the regular schedule. In Anaheim, Brea, Garden Grove, Orange, Placentia and Yorba Linda, residents with trash pickup Monday should put their trash out Tuesday.

* Buses: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a special holiday schedule Monday.

* Parks: All city- and county-run parks and recreation facilities will be closed Monday.
