Of the 56 community colleges in Southern California, Orange Coast ranked first in the number of students it transferred to the California State University system during the 1993-94 academic year. The total of 1,115 transfers was slightly higher than in 1992-93, when 1,101 Orange Coast students transferred to state universities.
De Anza College of Cupertino led the state in 1993-94 with 1,299 transfers.
Other Orange County community colleges also performed well in the number of transfers last year. Fullerton College was second in Southern California, Saddleback was third, Rancho Santiago was fourth, Golden West was fifth, Cypress was sixth and Irvine Valley was seventh.

The Cypress Senior Center is the place to be for an old-fashioned holiday concert sure to get your toes tapping.
The holiday concert will include a performance from the Happy Harmonizers. A variety of holiday selections are on the bill.
The concert will take place at 11:15 a.m. at the senior center, 9031 Grindlay St. Admission to the event is free.
