Maurice Saatchi Resigns as Head of Agency: The decision leaves the board of Saatchi & Saatchi Co. without either of the founding brothers. Charles Saatchi, said to be the creative powerhouse at the company, left the board at the end of last year. “Maurice Saatchi is presently considering an offer from the board to be appointed joint president of the company and also chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Worldwide,” one of the company’s principal operating groups, the company said in a statement from London. The statement said Jeremy Sinclair, currently deputy chairman, would become acting chairman pending the appointment of a successor. The board of Saatchi also proposed to its shareholders a change of the company’s name.
