Hits Magazine Tip of the Week
Jim Guerinot, former A&M; Records marketing executive and current manager of multimillion-albumselling band Offspring, has signed a five-year deal with BMG for a new “custom” label. The imprint will be financed and distributed by BMG’s successful Arista label. The deal was personally handled by newly appointed BMG Entertainment North America President and CEO Strauss Zelnick, reversing a long trend of unconcluded negotiations undertaken by the German-based media conglomerate.
