Aero-design Technology Inc. and 4/Flight Industries, two Valencia companies that make products for the airline industry, said they have signed a letter of intent to merge.
Aero-design makes in-flight trash compactors for commercial airlines, and 4/Flight makes galleys, crew rests and seating products for the commercial airline and general aviation markets. Both companies are privately held, and terms of the merger were not disclosed.
“Our products complement one another, and we will be able to do a better job of serving our worldwide customers with the combined resources of two companies,” said John Wetzel, president and chief executive of Aero-design.
Wetzel will be president and chief executive following the merger, a spokesman said. Mike Hanks, president and chief executive of 4/Flight, will also stay with the company, and will be responsible for supervising the company’s marketing strategies.
