Sotheby’s to Preview Two Collections

An auction preview exhibition of works from the Cyril Humphris collection and Old Master paintings from the New York Historical Society is on view at Sotheby’s Beverly Hills showroom today through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Humphris, a leading London dealer and collector of Renaissance and later European sculpture, is selling 331 works from his holding at Sotheby’s New York on Jan. 10-11.
Paintings from the financially troubled New York Historical Society will go on the block on Jan. 12.
Preview highlights include a 1598 marble sculpture of Adonis and a hound by Giovanni Bandini, valued at over $2 million.
The exhibition is at 308 N. Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.
