KOREATOWN : Donations Sought for Christmas Party

Donations of food, new unwrapped toys and clothing are being sought for a food and toy giveaway to take place next Sunday in Shatto Park, 3191 West 4th St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sponsored by the nonprofit People in Progress, which is funded in part by the city and by the Los Angeles County Alcohol and Drug Program Administration, the third annual Shatto Park Christmas Party will provide the area’s needy and homeless families with Christmas meals and give away toys to all children accompanied by an adult family member.
Last year, more than 400 children received free gifts. Families and individuals in need of clothing will also be able to pick out items donated by the community.
Volunteers to help with the event are being sought, and entertainers are also needed.
