WORLD IN BRIEF : NORTH KOREA : Nuclear Program Frozen, Agency Says

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that North Korea has frozen its nuclear program as agreed and is cooperating fully with the agency. In an address to the IAEA board of governors in Vienna, Hans Blix said a technical team that visited North Korea last month found that “facilities subject to the freeze were not in operation and that construction work had stopped.” He said a “few remaining areas require further technical consideration and discussion.”
