Couple Die in Apparent Murder-Suicide

A 61-year-old man man who may have been distraught over marital problems shot and killed his wife Sunday in their El Monte home and then killed himself, authorities said.
Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Jones said the couple’s grown son found the two dead on the same bed, and a small semiautomatic gun was found on the floor nearby.
The couple’s names were not released Sunday night.
“Investigators have learned that the couple has had past marital problems,” Jones said.
Neighbor Juan Lara said the man had said the two were divorcing.
