MISSION VIEJO : Trabuco Hills High Spanish Teacher Honored

Saddleback Valley Unified School District teacher Gloria Carrillo received an “Apple of Gold” this week in recognition for being named the outstanding high school Hispanic teacher of the year.
Carrillo, a Spanish teacher at Trabuco Hills High School, was honored during the first annual awards dinner of the Orange County Hispanic Education Endowment Fund.
The fund was established in 1992 to promote education, community service and leadership development for Latino youth.
Carrillo received the award from Gaddi Vasquez, a member of the County Board of Supervisors and honorary chairwoman for the event.
