Suzanne Biallot Named South Coast Plaza Marketing Director
Suzanne Biallot has been appointed director of marketing for South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. Before joining the retail center, she was editorial director for Goldbook in Beverly Hills. Biallot has also held editorial positions with both Town & Country and Elle magazines in New York, and served as vice president of corporate communications for Faberge Inc. and director of public relations and advertising for Guerlain Inc. in New York.
* Gary Nelson has joined Scantron Corp., a Tustin manufacturer of data entry products and related equipment, as director of product development. Nelson was formerly director of marketing for Alpha Microsystems for 10 years.
* John R. Wark has been appointed president and chief executive of Continuus Software Corp. in Irvine. He was previously vice president of marketing and development for Progress Software, a provider of database and development tools. Sol Zechter, who has been serving as chairman and chief executive of Continuus, remains chairman of the board and Fred Cox, who served as president and chief operating officer, remains on the board of directors.
* Lester J. Kaplan has joined the board of Allergan Inc., an Irvine health care company, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of Kenneth N. Kermes. Kaplan, who has been with Allergan since 1983, is corporate vice president for research and development.
* Janet Hopkins has been appointed director of advertising for Secure Horizons of California in Cypress. Before joining the senior health plan, she was senior director of advertising and marketing support for Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays. Hopkins has also been marketing communications manager for Everest & Jennings Inc. and Birtcher Corp.
* Nancy Ghio has joined the Anaheim Area Visitor & Convention Bureau as convention sales director. She was previously director of national accounts for the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Tennis Club. Ghio also served as travel industry sales manager at the Anaheim Marriott for five years and worked at Disneyland for three years.
* Bill Camp has been appointed director of finance for Kia Motors America in Irvine. He joined the company from Hyundai Motor Finance Co., where he was vice president of finance for five years. In addition, John Draheim has been appointed regional manager, Western United States, for Kia. He was previously Northwest region manager for Volkswagen of America.
* Takeo Mashimo has been appointed vice president of corporate planning for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc. in Cypress. He was previously senior manager for the Mitsubishi Motors Corp. export parts department, responsible for the marketing of arts throughout Europe. Before that, Mashimo managed the Middle East and African divisions from 1989 to 1991, and then moved to the Latin American division for two years.
* Trish Wright has joined Interplay Productions, an Irvine enter-tainment software developer and distributor, as vice president of marketing. She was most recently vice president of marketing for Activision, an interactive entertainment software developer.
* Richard L. Harrison has bee appointed chief financial officer of Interpore International, an Irvine manufacturer of synthetic bone graft material. He succeeds James J. Jungwirth, who resigned. Harrison was formerly corporate controller for Kirschner Medical Corp. in Timonium, Md.
* J. Michael Hagan has joined the board of directors of Ameron Inc., a Pasadena manufacturer of products for the building, construction and industrial markets. Hagan is chairman and chief executive of Furon Co. in Laguna Niguel.
* Bent Thomsen has been appointed executive chef of Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park. He has formerly been executive chef at Atlanta’s Midnight Sun, Amelio’s in San Francisco and Scandia, Hillcrest Country Club and Riviera County Club in Los Angeles. Thomsen also owned Tivoli Garden in Encino.
* James E. Lake has been appointed vice president of operations and product support for Rockwell Defense Electronics’ Autonetics Electronic Systems division in Anaheim. Lake, who joined Rockwell in 1985, had been director of operations for the Tactical Systems division in Atlanta.
