Rancho Santiago Sweeps Top Awards : Football: Fuentes, Holmes are players of the year. Ogas is coach of the year in the division.

Rancho Santiago quarterback Simon Fuentes and defensive back Andre Holmes were selected as players of the year in a vote of Mission Conference Central Division coaches.
The Dons’ Dave Ogas was selected as coach of the year. Rancho Santiago (9-1) won the Central Division with a 5-0 mark and will play Los Angeles Valley (9-1) in the Simple Green Orange County Bowl Dec. 3 at Orange Coast College.
Fuentes, a sophomore from Garden Grove High, set a Rancho Santiago single-season record with 19 touchdown passes. The Dons had eight players on the first team.
Fullerton, which finished second in the division, had seven first-team players, led by sophomore linebackers Chris Garza and Jason Nevadomsky. The Hornets play Hancock College in the K-Swiss Bowl Dec. 3 in Santa Maria.
