Two County Teams Vie for Soccer Berths

The Cypress women’s team and the Rancho Santiago men’s team will play today for berths in the State soccer tournament.
Cypress (18-0-2) plays host to Moorpark (9-3-4) at 1 p.m. Cypress has outscored opponents, 73-3, this season. Tracy Van Herk has 17 assists this season for the Chargers and 29 in her career. Carlye Wind has 11 goals for the Chargers and Traci Osman and Pam Prine have nine each.
Glendale is at Rancho Santiago (16-2-3) in a 1 p.m. game. Rancho Santiago is led by Francisco Islas, the most valuable player of the Orange Empire Conference.
The winners advance to the State tournament, Dec. 3-4 at Consumnes River College in Sacramento.
