Impressive Bows for TLC and Sinatra
The hip-hop vocal trio TLC is back with its second album, “CrazySexyCool,” which entered the chart impressively, at No. 15. A hit single, “Creep” (No. 8 on the pop singles chart), is boosting album sales. The Plant/Page project “No Quarter” may be a flash-in-the-pan. After debuting at No. 4 last week, the album by the former Led Zep members slipped to No. 11. The Madonna plunge continues. Her “Bedtime Stories” dropped from No. 16 to No. 24. Pop singles: Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love to You” was barely out of the No. 1 spot before another of the vocal group’s singles took over. “On Bended Knee” is the new pop singles champ.
* Frank Sinatra’s “Duets II” jumped on the chart at No. 16. If it goes higher next week, that’s a good indication that the album will be a hit. Detractors have been saying that the first one was a big seller largely because of its novelty value. So far it seems as if the novelty hasn’t worn off.
