ROUNDUP : Another Upset for Calabasas

Shera Wiegler, Deb Pepkowitz and Amanda Cey swept their three singles sets to lead Calabasas High to a 10-8 upset over Diamond Bar in a Southern Section Division II girls’ tennis quarterfinal Tuesday.
The victory marked the Coyotes’ second consecutive playoff victory over an undefeated team.
Calabasas (15-4) defeated Arcadia (17-1) on Saturday before ousting third-seeded Diamond Bar (23-1).
Nordhoff 10, Rancho Cucamonga 8--Stacey Roberts swept all three singles sets for the Rangers (13-6) in the Division V quarterfinals at the Ojai Valley Racquet Club.
Dana Hills 11, Camarillo 7-- Monique Allegre swept her three singles sets, but it was not enough in the Division I quarterfinals at Dana Hills.
Darian Chappell, Camarillo’s No. 2 singles player, won two of her three matches. But Camarillo (17-3) won only two of nine doubles matches.
La Reina 16, Connelly 2--The fourth-seeded Regents had few problems in a Division V quarterfinal match.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Harvard-Westlake d. Notre Dame Academy, 13-15, 5-15, 15-10, 15-6, 15-12--The Wolverines (15-4) rallied from the verge of elimination in a Division II quarterfinal at Notre Dame Academy. Amanda Selby and Christine Bohle each had 21 kills for Harvard-Westlake (15-4).
Newport Harbor d. Agoura, 15-7, 15-3, 15-5--The Chargers (15-3) fell to the state’s top team in a Division I quarterfinal at Newport Harbor (27-1). Misty May led Newport Harbor with 16 kills.
L.A. Baptist d. South Hills, 15-13, 13-15, 15-10, 15-7--Darcie Frazier had 26 kills and 17 digs for the Knights (18-0) in a Division V game.
Tunde Hrotko added 45 assists. Angela McHenry had 14 kills and nine blocks for South Hills (15-7).
Santa Ynez d. La Reina, 10-15, 15-5, 16-14, 3-15, 15-7--Shane Anderson had 23 kills and 14 blocks in a losing effort for the Regents (19-4) in a Division IV quarterfinal at La Reina.
Nordhoff d. Corona Centennial, 15-5, 15-10, 15-9--The second-seeded Rangers (16-1) swept a Division IV quarterfinal at Corona Centennial.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Glendale 76, Santa Barbara 68--Maurice Sowells scored 27 points, Eric Scott and Charlie Garcia each had 14 and Maurice McIntosh had 13 for the Vaqueros in a Western State Conference interdivisional game at Glendale.
Valley 68, East L.A. 49--Lamarr Thompson, a freshman from Sylmar High, had 15 points and 14 rebounds in a nonconference game at Valley (3-0).
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Valley 60, Victor Valley 55--Valery Brady scored 13 points and Erika Kusek came off the bench to get 10 for Valley (3-0) in a nonconference game.
Diana Sullivan scored 18 points for Victor Valley (0-2).
