SANTA PAULA : Fire at Apartment Displaces 2 Families
- Share via
Two families were left homeless Tuesday afternoon when their adjoining Santa Paula apartments were damaged by fire, according to the Ventura County Chapter of the Red Cross.
No one was injured in the blaze at 130 W. Harvard Blvd.
The fire caused major damage to an upstairs apartment, forcing seven people to flee, including a 4-month-old girl. The downstairs neighbors--a family of five--were also forced from their home because of smoke and water damage.
Both families were placed temporarily in motel rooms and provided with meals at a local restaurant, said Richard Rink, disaster services director for the Red Cross chapter.
