OUTLOOK
Entering a new league, the Centurions have an uphill climb to their fifth consecutive playoff appearance. Nina Alexander returns for her fourth year after averaging 14.7 points and 9.7 rebounds and being selected first-team All-Pacific Coast League last season. Watts hopes to move her to the off-guard position to take advantage of her outside shooting. She is joined by sister Addie Alexander, who averaged seven points and was an all-league honorable mention selection last year, and Palacios, the only other returning senior starter. Joining Addie in the backcourt is Moreno, who is back after suffering a knee injury that kept her sidelined all last season. Watts is relying on freshman newcomers Martinez and Love to contribute heavily from the outset. Both could break into the starting lineup, which would pose problems with inexperience early on. Palacios and Griset will help out in the post, which Watts expects to be one of the Centurions’ biggest weaknesses because of the lack of height.
