Asics Tiger Corp.: The sports shoe maker said Friday that it will open its first retail outlet store Nov. 15 in the Mojave Desert community of Barstow. The company will use the outlet store to sell excess inventory at discounted prices and to gain experience in brand management, consumer relations and product innovation in anticipation of additional retailing ventures in the future. Asics Tiger Corp. makes and distributes athletic footwear, sports apparel, accessories and sunglasses. The company’s corporate headquarters is in Fountain Valley, and its main warehouse is in Fullerton.
