Four-Star Films : ‘The Long Voyage Home’
This 1940 classic reunited “Stagecoach’s” John Ford, John Wayne (pictured, with Carmen Morales), Thomas Mitchell and writer Dudley Nichols in a robust yet poetic adaptation of four short plays by Eugene O’Neill about men caught up in the siren call of the sea. The elegiac sensibilities of Ford and O’Neill mesh beautifully. (Bravo Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 11:10 p.m.).
