Arcadia 21, Crescenta Valley 14--Jon Shepherd helped host Arcadia (8-2, 3-2) clinch a playoff berth when he intercepted a pass on the Arcadia 37-yard line with 1:31 to play to preserve the victory. Shepherd also rushed for 189 yards and one touchdown in 32 carries.
A 17-yard touchdown run by Ryan Baderian early in the second quarter gave the Apaches a 21-0 lead. They scored earlier on a seven-yard run by Shephard and a nine-yard touchdown pass from Jason Wagner to Jamall Jackson.
The Falcons (6-4, 1-4) battled back when linebacker Rocky Barbaro picked off a pass by Wagner and ran 57 yards for a touchdown. After Arcadia was forced to punt on its ensuing possession, Jon Watts hit Jose Escalero with a 25-yard touchdown pass play to cut the deficit to 21-14 at halftime.
Crescenta Valley’s Chris Hedrick rushed for 66 yards in 14 carries. Watts finished eight of 15 for 75 yards and the Falcons were held to 149 total offense.
