LOS ANGELES COUNTY : Hot Line Offers List of Government Jobs

Los Angeles County has started a 24-hour job information hot line.
By dialing (213) 351-5478, job-seekers will have access to a listing of employment opportunities in county government.
The job list, which is updated weekly, features a two- to three-minute recorded message that allows callers to pick and choose job categories that meet their interests or qualifications.
Callers are connected to a menu of categories: clerical and administrative support, technical, engineering, crafts and maintenance, health care, public safety and the justice system.
The county’s Department of Human Resources is providing the service with the assistance of Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke’s office.
The computerized job bank refers callers to specific employers and aids them with other leads via telephone.
