When George Wallace stood in the schoolhouse door in Alabama in 1963, we Californians were outraged at his racist attempt to deny education to black children. Now we pass a law so Pete Wilson can stand in the schoolhouse door and deny education to brown children. I guess that not only makes us racist but hypocritical ones as well.
