Moorpark’s Foster to Play Basketball for UC Irvine
Paul Foster, who led the Moorpark College basketball team in several categories last season, signed a letter of intent Thursday to play at UC Irvine next season.
Foster, a 6-foot-8 forward, averaged 19.9 points and 9.5 rebounds. He led the Western State Conference in field-goal percentage at 65.7% (253 of 385) and helped the Raiders finish in second place in the WSC North Division.
This season, Foster will be reunited at Moorpark with his twin brother, Nick. It will be their first season together since they teamed to pace Thousand Oaks High to the Southern Section Division I-A semifinals in 1993.
Paul was named Marmonte League player of the year that season after leading the Lancers to their third consecutive league championship.
The brothers attended the Air Force Academy briefly in 1993 but returned home during their freshman year. Paul then enrolled at Moorpark and Nick at Ventura, where he redshirted last season.
