Football/Linebacker
Osborne, from El Dorado High, has gained much attention as a linebacker at Saddleback. He was an all-Mission Conference pick as freshman and is almost assured of another such honor this season. Osborne had 10 tackles in Saddleback’s 21-21 tie with Golden West on Saturday to move into the top spot on the college’s all-time list with 209. But maybe the biggest play against Golden West was a block that helped teammate Shad Hinchen get free on an 89-yard punt return for a touchdown.

* Irvine Valley, sophomore. He finished fourth at the Orange Empire Conference championships Saturday.

Mike Haxton
* Golden West, sophomore. He had 3 1/2 sacks out of his defensive end spot as the Rustlers tied Saddleback, 21-21.
