The UC Irvine Fine Arts Gallery is calling for submissions to “AIDS: Community Responses,†a non-juried exhibition to run Nov. 29 through Dec. 10.
Entries in all media--including stories, snapshots, letters, poetry, objects, videotapes, music and live performances--will be accepted at the gallery, in the Fine Arts Village off Bridge Road. Delivery dates are Nov. 20 (noon to 3 p.m.) and Nov. 21 (4 to 7 p.m.). Contributors must pick up their work on Dec. 11 (noon to 3 p.m.) or Dec. 12 (4-7 p.m.).
“It’s not about good art or bad art,†says Catherine Lord, chair of the studio art department. “It’s about recognizing and remembering people. Contributors needn’t worry about the content of their entries. All works will be accepted and none will be censored.â€
