Record Says Osborne Is No Big-Game Hunter

Is Allan Malamud trying to be a comic when he says Tom Osborne “has out-coached many coaches” besides Bill McCartney? Is he unaware that Tom’s dinosaur offenses were 0-12 against top-five clubs before the victory over Colorado. Osborne has been great at out-coaching (i.e. outmanning) the likes of Oklahoma State, Missouri, Iowa State, etc. But Allan is right. Penn State is No. 1.
