Company Town : Universal Pictures Appoints Business, Legal Affairs Execs
Universal Pictures has named two senior executives to key positions in its legal and business affairs department. Jeffrey Korchek has been promoted to senior vice president of business affairs and Mary Ledding has been named senior vice president of legal affairs.
Korchek, who was most recently Universal’s vice president of business affairs, joined Universal’s legal department in 1987. He was previously an attorney with the law firm Manatt, Phelps, Rothenberg & Phillips.
Prior to joining Universal, Ledding was a member of the law firm of Weissman, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman and Silverman. She also held various positions at Warner Bros., Act III Television and MGM.
* Ellen Douglas has been appointed director of development of Big Ticket Television, a division of Spelling Entertainment Group Inc.
* Lyndon Golin was named manager of exhibitor relations for MGM/UA Distribution Co.
* Entertainment attorney Edward S. Labowitz has joined Alexander, Halloran, Nau & Rose as a partner. He previously was at Gipson, Hoffman & Pancione.
* DIC Entertainment has named Lea Adamitz as director of merchandising contract administration, Kim Butner as director of licensed product development and Cathy Hoffman Glosser as director of domestic licensing.
* Corin Nelson joined Savoy Pictures as vice president of publicity.
* Jill Kearney and Ruth Pomerance have been named senior vice presidents of creative affairs for Fred Zollo Productions.
