A teen-age boy was shot to death after an argument broke out during a pickup basketball game at the Rancho Cienega Sports Center in the Crenshaw district Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The youth, who was not identified, was shot three times in the torso and once in the leg, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. Paramedics rushed the victim to the UCLA Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
No suspects had been arrested.
Although the attack took place near Dorsey High School--which has seen three of its students shot, two of them fatally, in gang-related attacks during the last 13 months--initial reports indicate that no Dorsey students were involved in Wednesday’s incident.
