IRVINE — A Garden Grove man managed to escape the James A. Musick Branch Jail early Sunday morning and remains at large, authorities said.
Jacob Goldstein, 30, who was being held for theft and receiving stolen property, was discovered missing from the minimum security jail near El Toro Marine Corps Air Station at 5:20 a.m., said Lt. Pete Gannon of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Goldstein is not considered dangerous or “a threat at all,” Gannon said.
The jail currently holds just more than 1,000 inmates, most of them considered nonviolent, Gannon said.
