Montclair Prep running back Akil Anderson, who incurred a knee injury during Friday night’s 7-0 victory over Kern Valley, said he will undergo a magnetic resonance imaging test Tuesday and expects to miss Friday’s game against Kilpatrick.
Anderson and Darrell Dent were injured in the first half and did not return.
Anderson, a 6-foot, 185-pound junior who gained 73 yards in 10 carries, was hurt on the first play of the second quarter and had to be helped off the field.
“I planted my left foot to cut right and got hit with a helmet on the inside of my (left) knee,” said Anderson, who rushed for five touchdowns against Horizon of San Diego a week earlier.
Dent, a receiver/safety and one of the top baseball prospects in the area, suffered a concussion minutes after Anderson’s injury.
