HESPERIA — Quartz Hill High ran into a Hesperia team that always seemed to be in just the right place Friday night in a 20-6 Hesperia victory at Jay Reed Field.
Hesperia nose guard Jeremy Lopez punctuated a night of Scorpion opportunism by running 11 yards for a touchdown with a fumble by Rebel quarterback Brian Woodworth on the game’s final play.
Quartz Hill (2-1) suffered its first regular-season defeat since 1992.
Woodworth connected with Damian Kendred on a 67-yard pass play with 1:23 left in the game.
