Crescenta Valley Survives Burbank

BURBANK — Brett Baker’s 28-yard field-goal attempt with two seconds remaining missed wide left, allowing unbeaten Crescenta Valley to escape with a 15-14 victory over Burbank Friday night at Burroughs High.
Crescenta Valley (3-0) overcame a 14-0 halftime deficit behind senior Chris Hedrick, who gained 102 yards in 28 carries. Hedrick moved the Falcons to within 14-9 with a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and gave them the lead on a one-yard run with 1 minute 36 seconds left.
Carlos Baker of Burbank (1-2) scored on a 22-yard run in the second quarter. He caught two passes for 38 yards on the final drive.
