Hollywood Park Backs Compton Casino: Hollywood Park Inc., the company that owns the race track and new casino in Inglewood, signed an agreement with Compton Entertainment to build a $40-million card club in Compton. Compton Entertainment has already won local approval for the controversial club, but it was forced to ask for an extension of its construction deadline in June because it couldn’t line up financing. The club still needs additional approvals, including those of state regulators. If approved, construction of the 200-table “Pyramid Casino†would begin this year and be completed by the end of 1995.
