OAK VIEW : 3 Held in Connection With Street Brawl
Two Oak View men and a juvenile were in custody Tuesday in connection with a brawl between them and youths who had been playing football in an Oak View street.
Nathan Terrazas and Vincent Dealba, both 18, were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Ventura County Sheriff’s Detective Maureen Hookstra said.
Bail for each was $5,000, and their arraignment was scheduled today, Sgt. Bruce Macedo said.
The third suspect, a 17-year-old, was taken to Ventura County Juvenile Hall, Hookstra said.
Hookstra said the incident began about 4:50 p.m. Monday when the three, who were in a vehicle, confronted five youths who were playing football on Bundren Street.
One of the players, 18-year-old Michael York of Oak View, was struck in the head by a flashlight during the ensuing scuffle, Hookstra said.
She said deputies, who were called by a neighbor, apprehended the three suspects a short time later in Ojai.
York, who lives on Bundren Street, declined to be treated at the scene, she added.
