OUTLOOK

Canyon backed into the playoffs, going 0-2-1 in its last three league games. But the Comanches got in for the first time since 1986. Getting back is going to take some doing. The Comanches have experience and some talent at skill positions, but the offensive line needs to be rebuilt. Petronis, a second-team all-league pick, is the only returning starter. Hoover, a first-team all-league pick, is back at quarterback to guide the run-and-shoot offense, which was erratic last season. Still, Hoover passed for more than 1,700 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. Jacobs, a two-time all-league selection, caught 40 passes last season. The offense will have to put some points up because the defense has huge holes to fill. Petronis is the only returning starter there.
