Nation IN BRIEF : PENNSYLVANIA : Bar Alleged Stalker, Student Asks School
The woman whose harassment allegations prompted Swarthmore College to pay for a young man to go to school elsewhere has filed a lawsuit to block him from being readmitted to the school just outside Philadelphia. Alexis Clinansmith, 19, alleged last fall that Ewart Yearwood stalked her after she repeatedly refused to date him during their first semester at the school. Yearwood denied the allegations, insisting Clinansmith misunderstood his romantic overtures and developed unfounded fears. A disciplinary committee couldn’t decide whether Yearwood had harassed and intimidated Clinansmith, but said he had violated a school order to stay away from her.
