‘Sound of Music’

“The Sound of Music” is “a problem” to be solved? (“ ‘Sound’ Is Back With All Its Trappings,” Aug. 11). The lyrics to “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning” are a “tired cliche”? And “My Favorite Things” contains a “lyric to choke on”? Then why give valuable space to something so un-hip as a musical? After all, songs and albums such as “Doggystyle,” “Sexy MF,” “Baby’s Got Back,” “Achy Breaky Heart” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” could use some more exposure, and they are certain to stand the test of time a lot better than a tired old cliche like “The Sound of Music.”
