Hits Magazine Tip of the Week
As Bertelsmann Music Group continues its long search for a North American CEO to oversee its film, cable and music divisions, which include the RCA, Zoo and Imago record labels, industry speculation is increasing over the future role of current RCA President Joe Galante. Galante, who just signed a new BMG contract, headed RCA’s Nashville division before moving to New York to head the entire label. He is rumored to be returning to Nashville to revive the slumping division, subsequently leaving a vacancy at the top of RCA. Industry eyes are keeping a close watch on BMG Chief Executive Michael Dornemann’s next move.
