LOCKWOOD, Calif. — A game warden shot and killed a mountain lion that had perched in a schoolyard tree early Thursday morning.
Authorities were called by a woman who reported seeing a lion peeking at her through a window. When Monterey County sheriff’s deputies went to investigate, they found the lion in the tree watching the playing children.
Sheriff’s deputies notified the Department of Fish and Game, which sent a game warden to the location.
