COMPANY TOWN : MGM/UA Names Joe Nimziki VP of Worldwide Ads
Joe Nimziki was promoted to executive vice president of worldwide advertising for MGM/UA Distribution Co.
Nimziki will add to his responsibilities all of the print advertising for films released under the MGM Pictures and United Artists Pictures banners. He is also in charge of audiovisual advertising.
Nimziki joined the company in January from the entertainment advertising agency Cimarron/Bacon/O’Brien, where he was senior vice president of creative advertising.
* Propaganda Films has named Stephen C. Gelber, former vice president of production at Touchstone Pictures, senior executive for television. He replaces J. Patrick Faulstich.
* Producer John Bard Manulis has been named senior vice president and head of worldwide motion picture production for Samuel Goldwyn Co. Tom Rothman, current president of worldwide production, plans to leave the company next month.
* Virgin Records has named Carol Burnham director of publicity.
* Multimedia Inc., the Greenville, S.C.-based producer of TV programs such as “Donahue,†“Sally Jessy Raphael†and “Rush Limbaugh,†has named Donald D. Sbarra chief executive, succeeding retiring CEO Walter E. Bartlett.
* Live Entertainment has named Michelle Orsi director of public relations and Suzanne Mitchell manager of public relations.
In a restructuring of its operations and post-production departments, Live named Juanita Diana executive director of post-production, George Psyllas technical operations coordinator, Alison Burrows manager of ancillary sales, Jaclyn Murphy manager of purchasing and Andrew Blumke director of operations.
