Saigon Beer Coming to the U.S.: The beverage will soon be on sale in the United States under a contract signed by Vietnam’s Saigon Brewery, a spokesman for the firm said. It is the second Vietnamese brewer to win a U.S. export order in the four months since President Clinton lifted an economic embargo against Vietnam dating from the Vietnam War era. The spokesman said the brewery and a U.S. firm called Trichi Inc. signed a contract this month for the export of 3.2 million bottles of Saigon Beer valued at $1.2 million to California, mainly for the Vietnamese community.
