Trestles Trip--South Coast Audubon, a chapter of the National Audubon Society, will take a field trip Saturday to the Trestles area south of San Clemente.
The willow riparian and marsh habitat attracts yellow-breasted chats and warblers, chapter officials say. Swallows, common moorhens and California gnatcatchers may also be spotted in the sage scrub near the beach.
The group will meet in the beach parking lot at El Camino Real and Cristianitos Road, off Interstate 5 near San Onofre State Beach.
The trip will begin at 8 a.m.
Young Audubons--South Coast Audubon will also have a Young Audubons program Wednesday.
Springtime flowers, trees and birds will be the topic of the program, which begins at 6 p.m. It is free, and children age 5 to 12 are welcome.
The program will be at the Boys & Girls Club, 1304 Calle Valle, San Clemente.
Nature Program--A free family nature program titled “Slithering Snakes and Leaping Lizards†will be presented at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim.
The center is at 6700 Walnut Canyon Road. To reach it, take the Riverside Freeway east to Imperial Highway. Exit and head south to Nohl Ranch Road. Turn left and travel about three miles to Walnut Canyon Road, and turn left again. Go past the Anaheim Hills Golf Course; the nature center is at the end of the road, and parking is on the left.
